So I start my detox thingy on Monday...
Time to get myself healthier. My detox cleanse starts Monday, for a week, in which time I am not having any...

-splenda
-sf cola
-gum
-candy
-stuff in boxes, like vanilla almond cereal (how I'll miss thee)
-sauces
-coffee

etc.

To successfully go through a detox (since I have chronic stomach problems, edema, etc. and I'm SICK of them all), natropathy recommends drinking water only (lemon added is a great kidney and liver filter), sticking to easily digestible fruits and veggies, and lightly steaming everything if you must (say, if you have ibs and raw veggies upset you).

So my mum has got me a lot of my produce already...kale, blueberries, raddichio, a freakin' HUGE watermelon, baby zucchini, celery, organic lemons, black plums, strawberries (I've eaten 1/3 today. ACK. Well, all I've eaten is melon. I LOVE fruit...especially cherries and watermelon and apricots, so when they are in season, I'll basically live on fruit and fruit alone). I even have gotten dandelion/ licorice/ etc. detox tea. It smells AWESOME - you have to boil it and them let it simmer. Aromatherapy, I tell ya. :^)

If anyone wants to be my detox buddy, to keep me on track, pm me k?? The benefits are supposed to rock: reduction in ulcers/ ibs symptoms, reduction of edema in people suspectible to edema, brighter whites of the eyes, renewed energy, reduction in allergic symptoms, lessened bouts of insomnia i.e.

My allergies have been horrendous this year and I'm hoping this helps. Also, they recommend quite a bit of light aerobic activity (additional intake of oxygen to help the cells), and different teas and drinks for lymphatic drainage. When the lymphatic system gets 'polluted', so to speak, and lymphedema can develop (which is very similar, symptom wise, to edema). So I'm pumped about this.

Plus, summer fruits. Yum.

Current Mood: crappytoo full on melon. lol.

Hey when we were at the spa, They had water with Lemom and Cucumber slices in it. Its very refreshing. I dont even like Cucumbers but this water was soo good. There must be something to the cucumber I just dont know what it is.
Try it!
Note to self: Get cucumber for water and lemons!

Yes, I have tried it :D...and they serve it that...
way in many Korean restaurants too.

The cucumber makes the water a little sweeter, I find.

And cucumber is a natural diuretic so it helps even doubly with reducing water retention and so on.

Thanks though D :) I'm going to experiment with different fruit juices watered down in water - like get pomegrante juice because I heard it's good at dejunking the vascular system. But you weaken/ water it down a ton. ;D

Interested in detoxing with me? Or no. I know, it doesn't sound like much FUN, but it's not for a long time, and the benefits are huge.

lemme know,

hugs,

K

I thought of doing something like that. I dont know just eatting healther and stop eatting so much processed foods and such.
More veggies and fruit ( although I really dont like alot of fruit just berries.)
I do need to get out there and get more exercises. So if you wanna still be exercises or walking buddies I am so up for that!

YES.
Totally. I've been walking more and more, and sleeping better. So I REALLY respond well to exercise.

And it's always a good idea to cut down on processed foods...which tend to make ibs worse too.

I don't like all fruits, but they are growing on me (pun intended - lol)...I love fresh pineapple, honeydew, guava (omg - gimme! lol), watermelon, apricots, plums, raspberries, cherries, lychee, hawthorne (yum), tangerines, grapefruit, strawberries, blueberries, nectarines, peaches...mostly I don't like apples and bananas...apples make me bloat a lot.

Damn ibs ;p
